Our Objective
EDYFU is a Bolivian non-governmental organisation founded in 1994 and officially recognised in 1997. Our aim is to support disadvantaged families living on the outskirts of the city of Tarija by working with them to develop projects that support their children’s education.
EDYFU’s work focuses on the education and schooling of children and teenagers. We firmly believe that they are the key to enabling these families to break out of the vicious cycle of poverty.

Volunteering with EDYFU means enjoying a deeply rewarding experience in the heart of Bolivia, whilst taking part in practical projects supporting vulnerable children, young people and families.
For over 30 years, EDYFU has been supporting disadvantaged communities in
Tarija through educational, social and cultural initiatives run at the La Libélula and Amanecer centres.
By joining our team of volunteers, you’ll play an active part in the day-to-day running of the centres:
- academic support,
- recreational activities,
- sports and arts activities,
- supporting the children,
- assisting with educational projects, and taking part in community initiatives.
